A tip for keeping half an avocado from going brown.
Cut an onion into chunks and place in a plastic container with a tight fitting lid.place the cut avocado on top and put on the lid .
I have found this to work very well and it keeps the avocado in a good condition for a couple of days.

I’m on a LCHF diet and loving it. Can you have some LCHF meal plans, it would certainly help me.

The best way to keep an avocado fresh & green & to stop it going brown is to wrap the remaining unused avocado with seed in tact cover all in foil & place in fruit & vegie compartment in fridge, remember to scrap the avocado close to the skin as this contains the most nutrients . I never use butter always use avocado instead.

Dana says:

Do you cover the rice with cold or boiled water? Fast Ed says cold.

Greer says:

Hey Dana,

Adding cold water and allowing it to come to a simmer in the pot should work well!

Elizabeth says:

Using hot water will not speed up the cooking time. It will end up cooked on the outside of each grain but hard on the inside. 🙁 Stick to cold water.
