This Gingerbread Milkshake recipe is Australia’s answer to Christmas hot chocolate!
December 5, 2016We know, there’s no hot cocoa to be had in this weather. Fortunately, we’ve found some delectable just perfect for a gingerbread milkshake recipe that’s summer approved.
When our friends at HelloFresh Berlin sent us these German gingerbread cookies, our minds started racing for the perfect way to showcase them in an Aussie Christmas recipe. After a lot of brainstorming and yes, we’ll admit it, some snacking, the idea suddenly hit us like a bolt from the blue.
This milkshake is literally infused throughout with the flavours of Christmas. Best of all, it’s actually summer appropriate. Hoorah!
Christmas Gingerbread Milkshake Recipe
Ingredients
- 250ml Almond Milk
- 6 Pitted dates
- 1 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 2 gingerbread cookies
- Crushed almonds, for garnish
- Whipped cream or frothed almond milk (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cut your dates into small pieces and place into a blender with the rest of your ingredients. Taste, and add a date or two more if you prefer more sweetness.
- Pour into cups and sprinkle almonds on top (and some whipped cream if you’re feeling especially Chrismassy). Enjoy!
