Steak with Mushroom and Thyme

Ingredients for two people
500 g | potatoes, cut into wedges |
2 tbs | olive oil |
2 tbs | butter |
200 g | mushrooms, quartered |
2 | garlic cloves, crushed |
1 tbs | thyme leaves, de-stemmed |
2 | rump steak |

For the potato
Preheat the oven to 200C. Place the potato wedges on a baking tray, drizzle with the olive oil and season well with salt and pepper. Place in the oven for 20 minutes or until they are golden brown.
For the mushrooms
Heat the butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms, garlic, and thyme, and sauté for 5 minutes until the mushrooms begin to soften and brown. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
For the steak
Heat some olive oil in a griddle or pan to high heat. Add the steaks and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, cooking time will vary depending on preference and thickness.
To serve
Divide the potatoes between plates, serve the mushrooms on the side of your succulent seared steaks. Enjoy!
