Time saving tips: How to gain an extra hour in your day
July 20, 2016Just not enough hours in the day, right? We have all been guilty of saying that at some time in our busy lives. But what if you could could gain an extra hour in your day, how would you spend it?
Here at HelloFresh we are all about convenience and saving our customers precious time. If effective time management isn’t your thing, we thought we’d compile a list of some time saving tips so that you can spend it on the more important things!
1. Get up with your alarm
The easiest way to feel behind the eight ball from the get go is to give into the snooze temptation. Once you get into the habit of getting up when you wake up, you will be surprised by what you can achieve in the mornings – it can be a very productive time. Better still you will start the day refreshed and relaxed – ready to take on the world.
2. Or better yet…
Let’s take things further and guarantee that you get that extra hour by setting your alarm an hour earlier. It’s easier than it sounds! If you’re not ready to go the whole hog straight away, start with 15 minutes and increase by 15 minutes every few days. It won’t take long before you settle into your new early bird routine. Promise!
3. Write a list and set a deadline
There is nothing better than the feeling of crossing things off your list; talk about a sense of achievement! Well, to make this feeling even better, set deadlines for or ‘time block’ certain tasks, taking into account the extra hour that you want to have at the end as your prize. Set the timer on your phone or watch for extra motivation.
4. Turn off your telly and limit your social media
Find yourself flicking between Facebook and Twitter? Gazing blankly at the idiot box? Well, you’re not alone. However, if you would like to gain an extra hour in your day, limiting your time on social media and watching TV is a perfect way to claw back some of your time. Unless of course that’s how you would like to spend your extra hour!
5. Focus on the end game and ask for help
We are all guilty of procrastinating so don’t beat yourself up. But remember what you are working towards – and how good it will feel to have an extra hour to do the things you have been putting off. So why not delegate or outsource? Sometimes, we can be so overwhelmed with the tasks at hand we can forget that there are always people and services out there that are designed to help. And remember, we are all given the same hours in the day, it’s up to us how we spend them.
