by HelloFresh Get To Know Us

HelloFresh is all about minimising waste and making the most of things – that even includes the box our deliveries arrive in! In our Waste Not, Want Not series, we show you some handy tips for turning your cardboard box into all manner of useful or just plain cute objects. This week, a DIY recipe holder for your HelloFresh recipe booklets!

For this incredibly simple craft mission, we’ve used one flap from the wide side of our cardboard boxes, and two thin strips (about 15cm long and 5 cm wide) from another flap as the supports.

When you have these three rectangles, your a few cuts away from a free recipe holder!

Three pieces of the HelloFresh box are all you need to create this recipe stand!

Three pieces of the HelloFresh box are all you need to create this recipe stand!

About 10cm on either side of your largest piece, cut in about 3 cm. On the two smaller pieces, cut a 3 cm line a about a third of the way along the long side, and a small notch (just enough to stop your recipe slipping off).

OK – still with us? You’re doing great! This DIY recipe holder is going to change your life! And even if it doesn’t, you can pop it up on Pinterest and start impressing people.

All that’s left to do now is fold the sides of your largest rectangle inwards slightly (at about the 5cm mark), and push together both stand pieces into the notches you cut on your large rectangle.

Pop your recipe on, resting in the small notches, and voila! Your very own DIY recipe holder. The best part is, the whole thing will pull apart and fit into a drawer if you don;t have room for it on your bench.

So, what do you think? Will you be giving the DIY recipe holder made from a HelloFresh box a try? Let us know in the comments below!
