Porterhouse Steak with Onion Rings

    Ingredients for two people

    2 tbsflour
    2 tbsmilk
    2brown onions, sliced into rings
    1 bagpanko breadcrumbs
    1 tspHelloFresh sweet paprika
    2porterhouse steaks
    2 handfulsmixed salad, washed
    2 tbsolive oil
    1 tbsbalsamic vinegar

    Tip: the closer you bring your steak down to room temperature before cooking it, the more tender it will be!

    Preheat the oven to 200ºC.

    For the onion rings

    Place the flour in one bowl and the milk in another bowl. First roll the onion rings in the flour then place them in the milk and allow them to rest for 2 minutes.
    Combine breadcrumbs, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a shallow dish. Remove onion from milk and dredge it into the breadcrumbs mixture, make sure the onion rings are completely covered in the breadcrumbs.
    Arrange a lightly oiled wire rack on large baking sheet. Place the onion on the rack; bake for 15 minutes or until golden and crispy. If you don’t have a rack bake normally on an oven tray.

    For the steak

    Heat some oil in a pan or griddle over high heat. Season your steak with salt and pepper on both sides just before you add the steak to the pan. Cook the steak for 3-4 minutes on either side. Cooking time will vary depending on your preference and the thickness of your steak. Remove from the pan and leave aside, cover with foil, and leave to rest for 3 minutes.

    To serve

    Serve up your juicy steak with the spicy onion rings and the mixed salad drizzled with some olive oil and vinegar if you like.
