A “Skewered” by Celeste Barber Recap – Episode 3, 4 & 5

by Anna Eat

As you may know, Celeste Barber (AKA Australia’s Queen of Parody) has taken the HelloFresh kitchen by storm in our very own comedy cooking series — Skewered!

While the Instagram sensation can entertain an audience with comedic ease, her culinary skills (self-admittedly) leave a lot to be desired! With five HelloFresh meals under her belt, we think it’s safe to say Celeste is starting to find her cooking mojo… or is the success all down to her celebrity pals?

Australian fashion designer Alex Perry and model Elyse Knowles were the first to get roasted in the kitchen, and as we wait to see who’ll join her next we take a look back at the last three episodes! Which one was your favourite?

    Episode Three: Sophie Monk

Episode three saw Australian singer, actress and model Sophie Monk join Celeste Barber in the kitchen. The pair cook up one of our customer favourites; Garlic and Oregano Haloumi Tacos with Lemon Aioli and Caramelised Onion. As Celeste says, haloumi is “the steak of cheeses” and since our customers have rated this recipe so highly, it’s guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser — even if you’re cooking for non-vegetarians!

Tune in to find out why Celeste is dressed head-to-toe as Marilyn Monroe, and stay for the cooking tips — like soaking haloumi in cold water to mellow out the saltiness, or slowly cooking the onions to bring out their natural sweetness!

Episode Four: Anthony the Blue Wiggle

You’ve probably heard Anthony the Blue Wiggle singing about hot potatoes, and now you get to see him cook them! Well, kind of… The real knives come out as the pair serve up a child-friendly favourite from our Family Box; Chicken Schnitzel and Sweet Potato Wedges with Creamy Rainbow Slaw. Not only will fussy eaters love this recipe, they’ll be able to get involved in the kitchen too!

Anthony and Celeste enjoy a song and a dance while sharing plenty of handy tips! Like how to plate up dinner in a way that little ones will like, and the correct way to grate a carrot…

    Episode Five: Hot Husband

Things heat up when Celeste’s other half, Hot Husband joins her in the kitchen. He doesn’t miss a thing when it comes to preparing our Gourmet Ocean Trout & Thai Coconut Sauce, except maybe his shirt…! Using only wholesome and fresh ingredients, this restaurant quality meal is really good and really good for you! With the perfect balance of greens, protein and carbs, what’s not to love?

Not only will this episode give you delicious dinner inspo, you’ll also get the inside scoop on the comedy couple’s life behind the camera, as well as helpful cooking tips — like resting the fish skin side up to keep it crispy, and scrunching kaffir leaves in your hands to release their flavour!
